Middle Fork Geology

If you are interested in geology, rocks from four geological ages can be seen on the canyon walls from the Precambrian age (1 million years old) to the Mesozoic age over 100 million years in the distant past.

Native Peoples

Ancient pictographs etched in red ochre and dated over 8,000 years old can be found in the Stoddard Creek area. These ancient works of art were left for you to ponder by the primary residents of these canyon lands, a distinct tribe of the Shoshoni Indian Nation known as the Sheep Eaters.
