Salmon River
River Days
A typical River Day begins with breakfast around 7:30-8:00 a.m. The boats are loaded, and we are on the river about 10:00 a.m. with frequent stops for lunch, hikes, scouting rapids, volleyball, fishing etc. We normally reach our camp around 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., which allows plenty of time for a hike such as this beautiful canyon near Veil Falls . In late summer, we spend more time floating due to slower current speeds.
100 miles on the Middle Fork
Your trip begins at almost 6,000 feet above sea level as we take off from the put-in at Boundary Creek. Before it's over you will have traveled through 100 named rapids in over 100 miles. Scroll up to float north on the river. The sand bar at the Elk Bar campground is perfect for an afternoon game of volleyball. We usually make our first nights camp at Sheep Eater Hot Springs, one of several fantastic natural hot springs along the banks of the Middle Fork.
